Ariel Gail

Professor Gail S. Goodman, Director of the Psychology Department and Director of Center for Public Policy Research is at the University of California Davis. Her name is often credited for starting the modern science-based study of children's memories of eyewitnesses and children's victims as witnesses in court circumstances. Prof. Goodman has published widely, received many grants and been recognized with several international and national awards. She consults with numerous countries and agencies around the globe regarding policy as well as the study of child abuse in the justice system. She also serves as a consulting for the Special Assault Forensic Evaluation Center. (formerly Multidisciplinary Interview Center) and is a part of Sacramento County Child Protective Services. She is a member of numerous professional associations, including the Association for Psychological Science and American Psychological Association. She is the founder of the American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children, the Psychonomics Society Society for Research in Child Development as well as the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. She was president of American Psychological Association Divisions for Child and Family Policy as well as Practice Division American Psychology Law Society and Division Developmental Psychology.
