Aurora

Aurora Aksnes was born on 15 June 1996 in Stavanger Norway. She is professionally known as Aurora and often stylized with lowercase letters, such as AURORA. Her debut E.P. Running with the Wolves has been released by Decca Records and was well welcomed by blogs about music. Half the World Away - by the Oasis - for John Lewis' Christmas ad as well as Nature Boy - by Nat King Cole - are already two of the most notable covers she has recorded. Katy Perry, who endorsed the track Runaway from her side, also gave it some more recognition. Enjoy the celebration of this special event. Aurora Aksnes first musical memory was discovering a piano in her loft and being intrigued by its sounds. Jan Oystein Aksnes and May-Britt Aksnes encouraged Aurora to study music not to get a job or a hobby and as a way to develop. The singer began to write lyrics of her own. Bjork as well as Leonard Cohen are among her favorite composers. The singer decided to perform her songs publicly when her mother suggested that they can help other people, not to gain fame with her music, but rather to help the people around them understand their own importance and how they can affect the world. She started playing piano at the age of six, and began making music when she was 9 years old. It wasn't until her 14th birthday when she shared her story with her parents. Aurora was not a dream of her childhood. She claims that she enjoys composing music. To her, music is the most effective method of expressing anything.
